Deux Suédois condamnés pour les «violences» de Gênes. Un juge italien a condamné mercredi 19 février 2003 deux jeunes Suédois à des peines de prison avec sursis pour avoir pris part aux affrontements avec la police lors du sommet du G8 de Gênes, en juillet 2001. Il s'agit de la première condamnation relative aux journées de Gênes. Alexandra Wera, âgée de 21 ans, a été condamné à une peine de 16 mois de prison pour avoir « jeté des pierres sur des policiers ». ; Linus Jhakobsson, âgé de 20 ans, a pris 18 mois de prison pour les mêmes raisons et pour avoir « utilisé une barre de fer comme arme ». En décembre dernier, un autre tribunal a provoqué une polémique en décidant que le policier qui avait abattu Carlo Giuliani lors de ces manifestations avait agi en situation de « légitime défense » et ne devait donc pas être condamné.

Non à la criminalisation du mouvement "no-global". Saturday 8 February: 20,000 people were demonstrating against the "security" conference in Munich today, where the heads of NATO, defence ministers and the war industry are meeting to plot upcoming military aggressions. The demonstration was peaceful and cheerful, despite continuous provocations by large numbers of riot police.

Friday 7 February: Convergence Centre searched- journalists and demonstrators arrested!
At about 11 pm on Friday, 7th of february, the bavarian police (USK) entered the convergence center in Munich, where the anti-war demonstrators gathered. Demonstrators and Journalists were arrested by the police - a terrible attempt to criminalize the protest against war.

Reports: The police arrived with over 40 minibusses and raided the centre.(www.no-nato.de). Video footage was taken of all the persons present without their permission, and all identidies were checked and registered.
The contacted lawyer stated, that no motive was given by the police for the raid. Contacted jourralists were not allowed access to the convergence centre by the police. Reports vary also in the justification of the raid - according to no-nato.de it seems the whole operation has been planned longterm beforehand quoting the report on IMC UK by flopserver:

The days of action against the Nato have started yesterday with a ralley and a pro-capitalist cheering satire demonstration.
